It’s November, and we all know what happens every year starting in late November, if we’re lucky enough to have family and friends and gatherings related to festive events. Cheese trays beget cookies which beget turkeys and casseroles and mashed potatoes and pie and nog and etcetera and whatnot. (If we could spell that noise Homer Simpson makes, it’d be here.)
Might be a good idea to cast your eyes over toward East Nashville’s DancEast, who’ll host an event called The Whole Package on Saturday, November 19 that may help you fight the urge to inhale the whole package of groceries. Or at least show you how to pick the right indulgences, then work some of it off.
Said Whole Package event, according to DancEast, is “devoted to mindful eating, mindful moving, mindful living.” In specific, that’ll include: an education-minded chat with holistic health coach Amber Robertson-Smith; yoga, meditation, acupuncture and reiki mini-classes/information; the chance to sample some vegan cuisine; and giveaways from Bliss Holistic, Kali Yuga Yoga, DancEast and My Veggie Chef.
An extra bonus during gift-list budget-bust season: The Whole Package is free. Registration is required, however; you can sign up over at the DancEast website.
The event runs 1 to 4 p.m. at DancEast, 521 Gallatin Ave.
