There’s a long stretch of road between East Nashville and the Loveless Barn, way yonder on Highway 100, where Music City Roots’ regular rounds of top-notch live Americana/folk etc. go down. That road probably keeps more of us from regularly partaking in that great roots music than we’d like to admit openly.
So, gather up your thanks and pelt them at the East Nashville Beer Festival. Organizers announced today that music programming at the 2012 fest — set for March 31 in East Park — will be wrangled through a partnership with Music City Roots.
“Be prepared!” the Beer Festival folks warn. OK! We’re starting our training by emptying a frosty mug and listening to Jim Lauderdale records. It’s hard work, but we’re nothing if not dedicated to preparation.
Among the beer being poured at the 2012 East Nashville Beer Festival: East Nashville’s own Nashvillion Beers and Broadcast Brewing Company (the former comes in part from East Side Smiles‘ Dr. Tom Hadley; the latter, as we mentioned, is settling on Main St. and looking at a fall opening), along with fellow locals Blackstone, Jackalope and Yazoo and many, many others.
Tickets run $40 per person, and they’re set to go on sale at 10 a.m. on Feb. 10. Visit the East Nashville Beer Festival website for more info.
