East Nashville-based singer-songwriter and High Class Hillbilly vintage maven Nikki Lane just scored a big, big tour opening for the mighty Spiritualized from coast to coast in May.

On that jaunt, she’ll be taking the stage at some of our fine country’s finest large clubs and theaters, including D.C.’s 9:30 and San Francisco’s Fillmore. Closest to us? Atlanta, at the Variety Playhouse on May 13.

Ahead of that run, Lane does make a hometown showing at Exit/In on April 28, alongside The Apache Relay and Colorfeels. That show kicks off at 9 p.m., and she’s second. Tix: $10.

He’s not headed, however, for a hometown stage — at least within this first round. Fingers crossed for one on the horizon.

DancEast hosts holistic living-focused ‘Whole Package’

It’s November, and we all know what happens every year starting in late November, if we’re lucky enough to have family and friends and gatherings related to festive events. Cheese trays beget cookies which beget turkeys and casseroles and mashed potatoes and pie and nog and etcetera and whatnot. (If we could spell that noise Homer Simpson makes, it’d be here.)

Might be a good idea to cast your eyes over toward East Nashville’s DancEast, who’ll host an event called The Whole Package on Saturday, November 19 that may help you fight the urge to inhale the whole package of groceries. Or at least show you how to pick the right indulgences, then work some of it off.
